Fehmarn
Fehmarn, Germany's sunniest island, entices with its mild climate and diverse opportunities for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. A striking landmark is the Fehmarn Sound Bridge, whose clearance height is around 23 metres depending on the water level. All of the island's marinas are located on its southern side.
West of the bridge, opposite Heiligenhafen, lies Hafen Orth, one of the most beautiful harbours on the German Baltic coast. A little further east, at the end of a small channel, lies Lemkenhafen. Right by the bridge on the western side, visiting sailors will find the harbour of Bootswerft Schaich.
East of the bridge, the Burger Binnensee offers further options for mooring. Those who like comfort will find a very well-equipped marina in Yachthafen Burgtiefe. Here, the Südstrand beckons with fine sand and refreshing swimming for the whole family.
Those looking for something quieter will find a berth at Kommunalhafen Burgstaaken or right next door on floating pontoons at Yachthafen Burgstaaken. From here it's not far to the island's capital, Burg, with its picturesque old town, perfect for strolling and lingering. There is a fuel station both in Burgtiefe and in Burgstaaken.
Away from the coast, Fehmarn also offers cultural and historical attractions. The island holds numerous traces of its eventful past and invites visitors on exciting tours of discovery. Particularly worth seeing is the Fehmarn Sea Centre, whose diverse underwater world and interactive exhibits delight visitors of all ages. Nature lovers will also find charming cycling and hiking trails on Fehmarn, leading through idyllic landscapes and picturesque villages. Whether water sports, culture or nature experiences – Fehmarn has something for every taste and promises unforgettable holiday moments.
